We are pleased to announce a year long speaker series called, Photography Stories.
In an effort to highlight the many different genres of photography, Full Circle has put together a schedule of speakers, once a month, to present their work and to tell the stories behind them.
Oftentimes, the process of making an image is a mysterious aspect for the viewer. In order to highlight these processes, we have invited a variety of photographers from commercial wedding photographers, fine art photographers, and many more.
Our first speaker is Matt Roth on Wednesday, September 25th, 6-7PM.
Here is a little about Matt:
“One time a gaggle of teenage girls chased me down because they wanted to take a picture with me. …people sometimes tell me I look like Zach Galifianakis. Although, I’m styling my hair differently these days.
Fact: My one-year-old son’s second middle name is “Danger.” — really, a testament to how cool my wife is! I love the crap outta her!
Baltimore is home. It’s such a cool city! In 2016 I became a full-grown adult with a child and a mortgage. …took long enough.
I grew up in Georgia. …where everyone’s aunt seems to live. I went to the University of Georgia & got my degree in Sociology. If you’ve never been to Athens, GA, I highly recommend it.
The big project I’ve been working on these last few years is compiling a visual ethnography of American Micronationalists.
Here’s a client list: The New York Times, AARP, The Pivot Group, Wall Street Journal, Factory Athletics, Education Week, Chronicle of Higher Education, Printer’s Row Journal, Earthjustice, Buzzfeed, NPR.”
